Team to Dream Work offers consulting support to colleges interested in transitioning their varsity sports teams into more economically sustianable and student-centric models. The extent of that support depends on the vision the college and its stakeholders have for each sport, and is determined through your initial Discovery Meeting with Team to Dream Work.
Services often offerred to our clients during our consulting support can include but are not limited to analyzing and creating new systems for the following.
Equipment: The ownership, upkeep, and replacement of all relevent sports equipment currently owned by the college will be determined and align with the college and its stakeholders vision for each sport.
Facilities: Access to college stadiums, fields, courts, weight rooms, and other training facilities will be clearly outlined, with any usage, usage constraints, usage fees, and team responsibilities clarified through an MOU or other document.
Coaching and Support Staff: Continued coaching and trainer support, business office or budgetary oversight, and other staffing benefits will go through a cost/benefit analysis to determine what to include in the new model.
Anscilliary Benefits: Priority academic scheduling, admissions support, and less obvious benefits will be analyzed and considered dependent on cost and how they fit into the college and stakeholders' vision for the sport.
Team Governance and Leadership: Relevent and succinct team governance documents important for a student-centric club to function including but not limited to a team Handbook, Constitution, Bylaws, Codes of Conduct, an Emergency Action Plan, etc... will be created. A Student-Athlete Executive Officers Board with clearly outlined roles and responsibilities will be also be put together to meet some logisical needs of the team and create meaningful experiential learning opportunities and buy-in of and for the student-athletes.
Alumni Integration: Create a team alumni/stakeholder listserv, outline a plan for regular email updates on the team and its successes, establish an alumni mentorship program for current student-athletes to develop athletically and professionally, create annual alumni reunions to further alumni relations and engagement. Implement best practices for fundraising solicitations that align with the college's contact and fundraising rules and leverage alumni support and growing buy-in to develop team endowments.
Compliance Support: Identify and create expectations for academic and other compliance rules and eligibility that mirrors the school's athletic department, its codes of conduct, the NCAA, and/or other relevent sport and regulatory bodies.
